Naked Innovation: Primer on the Topic

This book is about innovation–how to create value for people through new or improved services and products. Innovation doesn’t require unusual genius or creativity, but lately all the buzz surrounding innovation has made it look awfully complicated. Naked Innovation helps unveil some of the mysteries–stripping it down to reveal structures that interdisciplinary teams can share. Once you see the the underlying theory and the method which flow from it, you’ll become even more effective at doing it yourself.

David McGaw and I organized the book in just those two ways. First, we introduce that underlying theory (the white below) to help ground readers in innovation concept. Second, we flow through an idealized process that kicks off with defining an Innovation Intent 1.0 and ends with a roadmap for Implementation.

We believe innovation can come from anyone, which is one key reasons we wrote Naked Innovation. The book has been used around the world by the Fortune 500, leading academic institutions and government agencies in the US and overseas. David and I had planned on doing an update, but lives got the better of us and we ended up just giving away our original version at the website NakedInnovation.com.
